  1. Description: The advent of massively parallel sequencing technologies has produced a deluge of new applications spanning many domains of biomedical science. As the cost of producing huge quantities of sequence information continues to decrease, the costs associated with converting this information into actionable knowledge have remained relatively constant. Further, while many analysis methods are in place for dealing with some commonly used protocols, some of the more novel applications still lack robust and tested analysis methods. This symposium has been established in order to bring some of these new applications, technologies and analysis methods to the forefront across the broad research interests of the Ft. Detrick biomedical research community. The goal is to identify recurrent application and analysis themes across the community in order to identify collaborative opportunities, share expertise and increase operational efficiencies for a larger benefit to the larger biomedical community.
