2nd International Workshop on The Biology, Prevention, and Treatment of Relapse After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

The Primary Aim of the Workshop is to facilitate the development of multicenter clinical trials related to relapse after both allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Specifically, these trials are intended to:

  1. Investigate the biology of relapse;
  2. Validate new proposed molecular definitions of relapse;
  3. Assess interventions designed to prevent relapse; and
  4. Evaluate approaches to treat relapse.

Additional Aims of the Workshop are to:

  1. Update the current state of the science relative to the biology and clinical studies of relapse after allogeneic HSCT;
  2. Present an overview on the biology and clinical studies of relapse after autologous stem cell transplantation;
  3. Provide a forum to present laboratory and clinical research, including ongoing clinical trials, specific to the study and treatment of relapse following HSCT.

Abstracts

The 2nd Workshop's Scientific Program will provide a venue for "real-time" information exchange to foster collaborative investigation of the biology and clinical management of relapse after allogeneic and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation including recent results, current activities, and interim observations of ongoing clinical trials. The highest rated abstracts will be selected for oral presentation. Accepted abstracts will be published as an on-line supplement to the Workshop Proceedings. Abstract submissions in both autologous and allogeneic HSCT in three focus areas are encouraged:
  1. Biology of Relapse
  2. Prevention and Treatment of Relapse
  3. Planned and Ongoing Clinical Trials Related to the Biology, Monitoring, Prevention and/or Treatment of Relapse
Abstracts will be accepted until 11:59 PM Eastern on August 27, 2012
