Sentinel animals are set-up for each shipment received

Three weeks after arrival a % of animals bled for basic serological testing

Six weeks after arrival a % of animals are tested for endo, ecto, bacteriology, helicobacter, and comprehensive serology
Dependent on diagnostic results* but typically 10-14 days after last set of tests are submitted

Appx 7.5 weeks after arrival

NOTE - For immuno-incompetent animals: Regardless of source, will require a six week minimum of exposure to sentinel animals, unless immuno-competent mice from the same room can be shipped with the desired animals.

* If an unwanted pathogen is detected during testing, additional quarantine and testing procedures will be implemented in the affected area. In addition, the R&Q staff will discuss several options with the investigator to facilitate the holding and/or rederivation of the affected animals.
