Placing a request from the Available List

Requests are processed in the following order:

  1. Select ES cell line(s) of interest from the Available List
  2. Submit the applicable request form(s), receive automated acknowledgment
  3. Within 2-3 weeks, you will be notified of as to the state of request
  4. Once approved, you will be contacted with further instruction and payment information

The recipient agrees to submit an annual progress report to NCI for three (3) years following receipt of the miR ES cell line(s). After submitting the online form, you will receive an automated confirmation notice acknowledging receipt of your request.

Within 2-3 weeks, you will be notified as to the state of your request. Once approved, you will be contacted with further instruction to complete a Technical Service Agreement (TSA) and payment information.

How much do the mouse ES cells cost?

The cost for processing and handling is $162.52 per vial; in addition, the recipient is responsible for all shipping fees.

What are the shipping costs?

Quotes for shipping fees should be obtained from the individual couriers (please see section e, below, for the list of available couriers).

Can I place a request without a courier account number?

The NCI Mouse Repository does not accept credit cards or send invoices for shipping, so you will be required to have an account with one of the couriers and provide the account number for direct billing. However, if at the time of completing the request form, you do not know your account number or do not have an account established yet, you may bypass this required field by choosing any one of the couriers on the list and providing a temporary account number (example: 222222). Please note that a valid account number must be provided to the NCI Mouse Repository prior to ship date.

Did you receive my request?

After submitting the online request form, you should have received an automated confirmation notice from the NCI Mouse Repository via email, acknowledging receipt of your request. This confirmation notice contains a copy of your request and your REQUEST NUMBER. If you did not receive a confirmation notice, please contact the NCI Mouse Repository office:

Can I make a change to my request?

This would depend on:

  1. How far the request process has advanced
  2. The availability of the desired mouse ES cell line

How long will it take to receive my mouse ES cells?

Your request should be satisfied within approximately four-six weeks from the time payment is received.

I would like to know what mouse ES cell lines are available, or I have a specific question about an ES cell line.
