Strain Description: To avoid epigenetic silencing often seen with transgenic insertions, the SB11 transposase was knocked into the ROSA26 locus (RosaSB). Relative to SB10, SB11 contains four amino acid substitutions that increase enzymatic activity. Expression of SB11 in RosaSB mice was equal in all tissues tested (brain, spleen, skin, lung). This strain is part of the improved Sleeping Beauty mutagenesis system developed by Nancy Jenkins' laboratory.
