Ion AmpliSeq Cancer Panel

Ion Torrent has developed single tube amplification, fixed content panels to amplify and sequence specific targeted regions of the human genome.  The Ion AmpliSeq Cancer Panel targets many well-characterized, clinically actionable mutations in cancer pathways.  Specifically, it targets over 700 hotspots on 190 amplicons that cover regions from 50 oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes.  Near complete coverage of KRAS, BRAF, and EGFR coding regions is included to detect novel mutations in these genes.

Additional fixed content panels include the Comprehensive Cancer Panel and the Inherited Disease Panel.  It is also possible to design custom content AmpliSeq panels that target either many small hotspots or larger genomic regions.  The LMT is seeking partners interested in testing the custom AmpliSeq pathway in collaboration with the technology development team.  Please contact Jennifer Troyer or Dan Soppet if you have a suitable project that you would like to try.
