The Protein Expression Laboratory (PEL) offers a variety of core services. Microbial Expression

Protein Purification

Eukaryotic Expression 

  • Expression of recombinant proteins using the baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS)

Cell Free Expression

Viral Technology Group

  • Lentivirus packaging, titration (FACS, qPCR),

  • SBI shRNA library screening support
  • Adenovirus production from adenoviral DNA construct or amplification from purified adenovirus
  • Titration of adenovirus by Clontech Rapid Titer Assay, traditional plaque assay or fluorescent marker (FACS)

Molecular Detection

  • Cell Line Quality Control, including mycoplasma testing, STR analysis, and human pathogen screen
  • Validated qPCR assays, custom assays, or SABiosciences PCR arrays
  • Serology assays to detect viral antigens/antibodies (custom), multiplexing, or testing using commercially available assays
