Risengrød (rice porridge)

A rice porridge served at the beginning of Christmas Eve dinner.
It is tradition for an elder to hide an almond in the pot of
risengrød before serving. The person who gets the almond
wins a marzipan pig! Place a little risengrød in the barn for
the Nisse mand (woodland elves). You know the elves are happy (and
well-fed) because the bowl will be empty on Christmas morning!
Microwave 1/2 cup rice in 1 cup water and 1/4 teaspoon salt
for 5 minutes on high, followed by 10 minutes on low (20% power).
Add 1 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 cup milk and allow to rest
Add 1/2 cup Cool Whip and one whole blanched almond.
