PIV Card Reader Deployment at NCI-Frederick

As of December 15, 2011 all government-owned Windows desktops will be required to have the ability to use a PIV card for login purposes. To prepare NCI-Frederick for this NIH mandate, C&SS will be distributing PIV card readers to existing desktops over the next several weeks.

Please note, at this time this mandate only applies to Windows computers connected to the NIH network. Computers connected to scientific equipment on a VLAN or slated for a VLAN will not be affected. Macintosh desktops will be addressed at a later date.
