Mass Spectrometry based epitope mapping
In collaboration with the Antibody Characterization Laboratory and the National Cancer Institute’s Clinical Proteomic Technologies for Cancer (CPTC), PCL is developing a mass spectrometry based epitope mapping method. To develop this methodology PCL will combine different techniques currently reported in the literature:
- epitope excision (antigen bound to the immobilized antibody and digested)
- epitope extraction (antigen digested in solution and incubated with the immobilized antibody).
The structural characterization of the epitope will provide valuable information about the antibodies of interest, especially in the prospective of using the monoclonal antibodies as diagnostic tools.
