Event Description

Lecture abstract: We developed ‘worm perturb-seq’ which combines RNAi knockdown with RNA sequencing and applied it to ~1,000 metabolic genes in adult C. elegans. We used differentially expressed genes not only to systematically investigate how metabolism is rewired in response to metabolic gene perturbations, but also to infer how metabolism is wired in the animal. By using flux balance analysis, carbon tracing and metabolomics, we validate numerous predictions obtained by worm perturb-seq. I will present an overview of the results.
