Sample Processing and Cryopreservation

Whole Blood, Bone Marrow, Apheresis

Whole blood processing costs are based on the volume of blood received. Costs include labor associated with sample tracking and processing, controlled rate cryopreservation, and specimen short-term storage/inventory in preparation for submission to the BioRepository. Based on protocol requirements samples may be cryopreserved in RPMI-1640 media supplemented with 25% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 10% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or in 90% pooled human AB serum plus 10% DMSO.
