Registration for the 2018 IIG Training Workshop is NOW OPEN. Priority is given to those with science to share.
Deadline for abstract submission is Friday, June 29th, 2018. No edits or changes in your abstract will be accepted after you have completed your registration. Please proof read carefully.
To register, please c l i c k h e r e.
Here are some essential things to know about the Workshop:
- Abstract submission will be open until Friday June 29th. Historically, the Workshop has been over-subscribed. Space is limited. Registration will be closed the moment we reach capacity, possibly without any warning. Acceptance will be on a strict first-come, first-served basis and favor those with science to share (i.e. with an abstract). Those who show up without official acceptance will be turned away. Please, register EARLY.
- Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words. Keep in mind that the abstract that is submitted in your registration is the final version. Edits or changes in your abstract cannot be accepted after you have completed your registration. Use only roman characters. Please proof read carefully and make sure you have checked with your PI (if needed) before you submit your abstract. Abstracts may be withdrawn between June 29th and July 9th.
- ALL attendees, regardless of seniority and experience, will be required to actively participate in the meeting by sharing data in talks or posters, providing direct mentorship to trainees, evaluating scientific progress of trainees, chairing educational sessions, etc. No one may attend without assuming official duties, which you may sign up for when you register.
- After registration, you will receive a notice of official acceptance. If you don't receive an email, please contact us. At that time you will have the option to purchase your food package which includes coffee breaks, 2 lunches and a sit-down dinner. We encourage all registrants to buy the food package as lunches and dinner will be a great opportunity for discussions, exchange of ideas and networking with your NIH/FDA colleagues, journal editors and invited experts. Bringing food to the National Conference Center is strictly forbidden, and there are no nearby food options for attendees. The cost of the food will be the same as last year ($50 for Trainees, $75 for Senior Staff Scientists, and $100 for PIs and staff clinicians).
- The National Conference Center is about 35 miles away from the NIH main campus and has plenty of parking. If you choose not to drive, daily buses MAY be provided to and from the NIH main campus or the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station to the National Conference Center (stay tuned!). Carpooling is strongly encouraged!
- Lodging will be available at the National Conference Center and overnight stay is strongly recommended. A special nightly rate has been negotiated for our attendees. Suite can accommodate 2 people.
To book lodging, please click here. - No travel orders or other approvals are required for this workshop. This also means attendees will not be reimbursed for any meeting-related expenses. Due to government regulations, the cost of food, beverages, lodging, and transportation will be the sole responsibility of the individual attendee.
- Since our time is somewhat abbreviated, both days will be action-packed with science, mentorship, and collaborative interactions among senior scientists, trainees, journal editors, and invited experts. We hope, that with your aid and support, this will be the renaissance of Immunology training and mentorship at the NIH.
