Additional Information: This lot of recombinant human IL-1 α (117-271) was purified from E. coli under GLP conditions and consists of the carboxy-terminal 155 amino acids of the 271 amino acid human IL-1 alpha precursor (see Gubler et al., "recombinant Human Interleukin-1 alpha: Purification and Biological Characterization," J. Immun. (1986 136:2492-2497).

This material was aseptically re-vialed in aliquots of 100 micrograms. Please note that this sample contains no preservatives, and hence should be handled aseptically (eg. open container in a biological safety cabinet). The activity of the pure protein is stable at 4oC (if kept sterile and not exposed to protease), at -20oC, to lyophilization, and to several cycles of freezing and thawing. Heating the diluted sample at 100oC for 60 minutes will destroy most of its IL-1 bioactivity.

Stability: Reagents are held within assured, temperature-controlled storage facilities and they should be stored on receipt as indicated on the label. Once reconstituted, diluted or aliquoted, users should determine the stability of the material according to their own method of preparation, storage and use.
