Staff at NCI at Frederick will be able to participate in the Fall 2018 NCI Staff Town Hall on Wednesday, October 17, from 10:30–11:30 a.m., which will be videocast live to the Building 549 auditorium.

NCI Director Norman E. “Ned” Sharpless is hosting the town hall at NCI at Shady Grove, his second since becoming director in October 2017, and is expected to speak about his plans for NCI. A question-and-answer session will follow his remarks.

Viewers at the satellite locations, including Building 549, will have a turn to interact with Sharpless and ask questions.

Detailed information about Sharpless’ remarks has not yet been released. However, if the previous town hall is any indication, he may elaborate more on his four areas of key focus as NCI director. He may also discuss the NCI Annual Plan and Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2020, which proposes a $662-million budget increase for NCI, including $340 million for greater efforts in cancer research, treatment, and partnerships.
