The NCI at Frederick is the Department of Health and Human Service's only GOCO (government-owned, contractor-operated) facility. Five separate contractors hold the five contracts that provide services and support to the investigators at Frederick in the areas of animal production, computer and statistical services, operations and technical support, scientific library services and advanced biomedical computing.

Computer & Statistical Services

The Computer & Statistical Services (C&SS) contract, currently held by Data Management Services, Inc. (DMS, Frederick, Maryland), provides comprehensive computer support and services as well as statistical and mathematical analysis.

Operations and Technical Support

The Operations and Technical Support (OTS) contractor, currently Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc., serves as the infrastructure support for the entire NCI at Frederick facility. Leidos employs almost 1,300 staff, including scientists, research assistants, technicians, engineers, administrative, maintenance, and support personnel.

Scientific Library

The Scientific Library at the NCI at Frederick provides general library services, including obtaining and disseminating information necessary for research and administration. The Scientific Library contract is currently held by Wilson Information Services Corporation (WISCO) of Frederick, Maryland.

The Advanced Biomedical Computing Center (ABCC) is a part of the Information Systems Program at the NCI at Frederick. The ABCC provides technology development, scientific consultation, collaboration and training, and high-performance computing support to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) scientists and staff.
