Seminar addresses contracting with the Federal Government as a prime contractor, subcontracting to fulfill prime contract obligations, or performing as a subcontractor. The course provides a discussion of the federal government contracting process, including procurement laws, regulations and requirements. Focus of the courser will be subcontracting, both as a prime contractor and as a subcontractor. Seminar will guide attendees through the subcontracting process from award of a Prime Contract through subcontract closeout. Course will examine key items to consider when issuing, reviewing or responding to an RFP, including the importance of the Statement of Work, factors to consider in selecting contract types as well as an in-depth look at contract types. Additional topics will include receipt and review of an Offeror’s Technical and Cost proposal, Source Selection, Subcontract Negotiations, and maintenance of CPSR compliant subcontract file documentation. Training will conclude with a discussion regarding subcontract management, delivery and performance issues including an examination of the privity of contract concept and subcontract close-out. The course is designed to provide, those new to government contracting or those looking for a basic refresher course, with an understanding of the government contracting process. Attendees will receive a robust training manual for future reference. The training manual will contain detailed information regarding various government contracting topics discussed during the seminar as well as numerous blank documentation forms and checklists that will help maintain compliance and reduce paperwork. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be provided with a web link and electronic access all course documentation.
