Requests to install or update software on the FRCE cluster are now handled by Service Now. Please fill out the form here and a ticket will be generated for the FRCE team.
In general, any open source or source available software can be installed on the cluster. The may not be possible in a few cases.
- The package is written specifically for a different Linux distribution or for a different version of the OS.
- The package has restrictive license terms making it unsuitable for a shared environment.
Installation of licensed software is also possible but in general the person requesting the installation is responsible for obtaining a license. As the software will be run on any of the FRCE nodes the license should use a network license manager and not be node-locked.
