The goal of the festival is to acquaint our neighbors -- scientists, citizens, and
especially students -- with the nature of our research, the discoveries we have
made, and the challenges we face in the fight against cancer, AIDS and other infectious
diseases worldwide. The Spring Research Festival is open to all in the NIH and the
Fort Detrick communities as well as to the public.
The purpose of TYCTWD is to introduce children, ages 6 to 13, to the vital public
services that their parents provide in support of the NCI-Frederick's/Fort Detrick's
mission and to encourage future careers in science. All employees are welcome to
bring their children, ages 6 to 13, to work on this day if approved by the employee's
supervisor and safety rules are followed. For additional information, please go
to the official TYCTWD website at http://kidsday.ncifcrf.gov or call the TYCTWD
phone line for the at (301) 846-7338.
