Editor’s Note: Today is the final day to register your child for the 2019 Take Your Child to Work Day event. All children must be registered to attend. Go here to register.

Take Your Child to Work Day is rapidly approaching. The much-anticipated annual event, which takes place on June 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., will feature nearly 40 activities and programs, including old favorites and exciting new arrivals.

Come learn about Ozobots, pocket-sized coding robots that can read colors, follow mazes, and perform dozens of everyday tasks. Each child will have their own Ozobot to use during the session.

Then step outside to meet local meteorologist and weather producer Eileen Whelan, of ABC 7 News. She will be educating kids about weather and showing off the team’s Storm Chaser Hummer.

If you’re up to the challenge, try to break free from Dr. Chaos’ Escape Room, courtesy of Frederick’s own Surelocked In Escape Games. Participants will need to look for clues to open a locked box containing Dr. Chaos’ big scientific breakthrough.

Next, calm your nerves by visiting the folks from Days End Horse Farm. Kids can meet the farm’s miniature horse and learn about the team’s dramatic rescues and successful rehabilitations.

And don’t forget to visit old favorites, as well, including Fire & Ice (explore the amazing things that happen at extreme temperatures); You Be the Investigator (protect your patient, an egg, from dangerous diseases); and, of course, liquid nitrogen ice cream.
