Summer is here, and that means the return of two popular events from the Scientific Library: the Summer Video Series and the Student Science Jeopardy! Tournament.

In this year’s Summer Video Series, the Library is showing the five-part BBC documentary Dynasties, which the BBC describes as the true stories of five animals—penguins, chimpanzees, lions, painted wolves, and tigers—as they struggle against rivals and the forces of nature, fighting for their own survival and the future of their dynasties.

The videos will be broadcast at both the Advanced Technology Research Facility and NCI at Frederick from noon to 1:00 p.m. on select days throughout July and August. The schedule for the showings is below.

The 13th annual Student Science Jeopardy! Tournament is scheduled for July 24, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Building 549 auditorium. The event is open to the public and will also be videocast on the first floor of the Advanced Technology Research Facility.

Teams of two high school and/or undergraduate student interns are welcome to compete. Registration is open until July 17 or until the maximum 10 teams are registered. Students interested in participating can go here to register. All other students and staff are welcome to attend and cheer on the competitors.
