Summertime is coming, and with it, warmer temperatures—so get out there and enjoy it. The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) department has talented individuals dedicated to maintaining your air conditioning equipment for maximum efficiency. Our staff are always ready to address issues, even in the dog days of summer. Please be assured that we are working diligently to keep you comfortable.
Summer is also the start of mowing and landscaping activities, when large vehicles will be moving around the campus. Please be particularly aware of your surroundings.
Campus Improvement Committee (CIC)
The Campus Improvement Committee was formed for the sole purpose of identifying and pursuing projects that will enhance the exterior grounds of the NCI at Frederick Campus. These projects may include landscaping, sidewalks, hardscapes, signage, picnic tables, and larger permanent structures, such as a new pavilion and trellis for the Building 549 Café. If you have any suggestions for consideration, please submit them to mike.addington@nih.gov or call x1195.
As you enjoy our ever-improving outdoor facilities and landscaping provided through the efforts of the Campus Improvement Committee, please remember to dispose of trash properly.
As summer approaches and days get longer and warmer, remember these important safety tips for working or playing outside:
When working outside, know your limitations, and take breaks as necessary. Drink plenty of fluids. Water and sports drinks are two excellent choices. Stay away from sugary sodas and energy drinks. They can speed up the dehydration process.
