The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Department has been serving and supporting the NCI scientific mission since 1972. Our dedicated staff works 24/7 behind the scenes to ensure that the NCI campus and laboratory environments are safe, functional, and reliable, as well as comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Department processes and completes roughly 25,000 work orders every year through our preventative maintenance program, trouble calls, special assists, and repairs. In fact, every task small or large is monitored and tracked through the work order system.

Utility outages are necessary to complete maintenance, new installations, or repairs of the utilities serving our buildings. Our goal is to minimize impacts; however, in occupied facilities there may be inconveniences due to construction and outages.
