Joy Beveridge, clinical project manager III, is all about building relationships. Her work as a clinical project manager requires her to manage teams such as the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials, Center for Global Health, Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative, and Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis. Equally important are the relationships Beveridge builds through her work with Woman to Woman Mentoring, Inc. (W2WM), a 501(C)3 non-profit organization that seeks to cultivate mentoring relationships that provide women with guidance, support, and connections.
The Scientific Library is getting ready for its Annual Winter Video Series. Beginning on Monday, January 9 and concluding on Friday, February 17, the Winter Video Series will consist of two different PBS programs, each with three episodes.
For more than 30 years, Michael Dean, Ph.D., has been an integral part of the NCI at Frederick community. Kirsten Student Intern Program and also volunteered his time with Mission of Mercy, a community-based organization providing free healthcare and free prescription medications to the uninsured and under-insured.

The Campus Improvement Committee (CIC) has recently been re-established, with Mike Addington, manager, Operations and Maintenance, as chair. Addington is excited to be involved in a committee that’s so near and dear to his heart, and he’s a big believer in the value of increasing morale and productivity through an appealing and pleasant work environment.
The NCI has pulled off a three-peat, winning the Ronald H. Defelice Cup, the annual golf tournament between NCI and Leidos Biomed, for three consecutive years.
Winter is on its way, and that means sweaters, snow—and the NCI at Frederick’s Holiday Markets. The markets will take place on November 22 and December 20 in the Building 549 lobby and Conference Rooms from 11:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Even on a brisk fall day, NCI at Frederick employees came out to enjoy a walk during their lunch hour at the latest Occupational Health Services (OHS) Walk for Health event. It was the third such event that OHS has sponsored in 2016.
Light-up yo-yos, brightly colored portion plates, and a fast spinner game lured hundreds of area residents to the Frederick National Lab booth at this year’s In The Street festival, where they also heard a message from the lab: Stay healthy through healthy habits.
